This Week in Math - Transformations...... ROTATIONS

This week we are expanding our knowledge base into Rotations.  We have updated our Math Notebooks with Translations and Reflections.

Below is a quick review on how to quickly and easily find the new coordinates after a Rotation has taken place.

ENTRY TASK:  ON A SHEET OF GRAPH PAPER FOLD IT INTO FOURTHS.

 Label each fourth

as follows:  90 degrees, 180 degrees, and 270 degrees.  Then flip the paper over and label each fourth as 90 degrees counter clockwise and 270 degrees counter clockwise.  You only need to label 3 on the front and 2 on the back.  Below is an example.

Follow along with EACH example in the tutorial on your Graph Paper.  This will be collected as your entry task for today!

The students will be getting a packet of rotations to perform which will be collected at the end of the period on Tuesday.
